Introduction
Welcome to Rise of Chaos. In this game your main objective is to build a strong empire. You will do this by advancing through ages, researching technologies, and dominating each other. This guide will not show you how to play but will explain what things are and what they do. If you have any questions contact the admin through the suppor que(located at the top of every page) and they will give you names of Empires who have been playing a while who will help you.

New Players
To start the game out you need 3 villagers. If you started out your account with no villagers, you must contact us at admin@riseofchaos.com so that we can fix your account so you have some. Once we make sure your account has those 3 villagers, we will then email you to tell you it is complete. You will then have to re-login and start fresh. Make sure you do contact us, dont just give up!

Turns & Reserves
Reserves are basicly turns that are stored until you want to withdraw them as turns. You will find the place where the reserves are stored on you town hall page. It will say you have xxxx(number) amount of reserves. To withdraw the reserves and turn them into turns just click on them to transfer them into turns. You will use turns to explore(find resources), move from area to area, and attack another empire. You will accrue ten turns per ten minutes. You can find this on the bottom of the web pages and it will tell you how many turns you will receive in so many minutes. You can get more turns by becoming a supporter(purchasing credits through paypal.)You can add up to 10k turns if you become a supporter, change your name, and have civilization changes.

Resources
To train units, construct buildings and/or research any technologies, you will need to collect a certain amount of resources first. To get the resources you must first assign villagers to each job of Farmers, Gold Miners, Lumberjacks, or Stone Miners. You can do this on the explore page by using the drop down menu at the top which will automatically assign your villagers to the job you choose when you explore. You will want to check your population and make sure you have no idle villagers. You can do this by clicking on the Population link located in the Menu. You can assign them automatically if you have idle villagers by clicking on the A button out from each type or you can do it manually by adding the number to the box you choose. Then you click the Upgrade Population button and it will put your villagers where you wanted them.

Population
This is where you will be able to train villagers to collect resources and assign, re-assign them to different tasks so that you may only collect the certain resource that you require. The villagers will collect resources ONLY when assigned to places, Idle villagers wont collect Anything.

Population Limit
Make sure you have enough houses or castles to keep your villagers happy. If their happiness drops below 90 percent while you are exploring they may leave you or another empire can convert your villagers by using their monks.

Construct
Before you can create any war units to protect your empire, you require buildings first. At the beginning, you will only be able to construct barracks. As you research your technologies and advance further through the ages, more buildings will be available to construct.

Train Units
You will need to train units to protect your empire from attacks. In the dark age you will only be able to train militia units. As you advance through the ages, more units will be available to train. Training takes 30 minutes; there is a countdown on the page to tell you when units will be trained, which is located at the top of the training page. We have listed all the available war units you can train below.

Black Market
If you have extra resources and want to trade them for another type of resources, go to the black market! Selling your resources though takes 25% of your profit for the amount of resources you trade. So lets say you sell 100 food, you will only get 75 gold pieces back.

Technology
Researching technology is how you advance through the 4 ages and become a stronger empire. By researching technologies, your war units will become stronger, villagers work faster, etc. Each technology provides a short description, when you click on the Technology link button on the Menu. You will need resources to purchase these technologies.

Faith
So what is faith? Faith in essence is the happiness of your monks. Faith is only important when converting but we will get to that in the attack section of this guide.

Buildings
Each building in Rise of Chaos has its purpose. Below is a list of the buildings and what they are used for.

House
houses are important to have so that your villagers and war units have a place to stay. 1 house adds 5 to your population limit.

Barracks
the barracks is the first building you are able to construct in the Dark Ages, when fully researched(meaning you have all the technology) in the Dark Ages, you can train up to 2 different types of infantry units by constructing barracks.

Archery Range
This building is available in the Feudal Age, when fully researched, you can train up to 4 different types of range units.

Stable
This building is available in the Feudal Age, when fully researched, you can train up to 3 different types of cavalry units.

Monasteries
This building is available in the Feudal Age. This building allows you to train monks which will help you convert the enemy's villagers.
Siege Workshop
This building is available in the Castle Age, when fully researched, you can train up to 3 different types of siege weapons.

Castle
This building is available in the Castle Age. Building castles will add hit points to your empire, making it stronger. When other empires attack you the castle will allow your war units to fire arrows to help defend your empire from the enemy. Castles provide extra shelter for your villagers and it adds 11 extra to the population limit. Castles make it harder for you to leak (meaning your villagers do not have enough buildings to be happy). Castles provide the best protection against leaking but at a high cost.

Watch Tower
This building is available in the Dark age. They are similar to castles but add less attack on defense and cost less than castles. Watch Tower's hit points are less than castles and do not give much protection to villagers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Below are frequently asked questions asked by empires of the game.

My villagers keep leaving me while collecting resources!?
If your villagers do not have enough houses, they will leave your empire when forced to collect resources.

Empires keep taking my villagers!?
Other empires are taking your villagers in an attack strategy called sieging and this is happening because you do not have enough buildings to make your villagers happy. So you need to build some more buildings.=.

How do i get more villagers?
Each Explore finds more villagers, just go to Explore and press "Explore" to find more villagers and resources.

What is stone used for?
Some buildings require stone. Stone becomes more useful only in the castle age.

When will my units be trained?
If you click on Train Units, you should be able to see a countdown displayed at the top of the page. Each train usually takes 30 minutes.

Whats our worth made out of?
Your empires worth is decided from the amount of villagers, and war units you have. Yes each war unit is worth the same. Each villagers is worth $250 and each War unit or Monks worth $125 of your networth.

My villagers are idle, whats that do?
1. Nothing at all!
2. Not employed: idle.
3. Avoiding work or employment; lazy: shiftless, idle youth.
4. Not in use or operation: idle hands.
5. Arrange them in Food, Gold, Wood or Stone.

How do I see who attacked me?
Go to your town hall, and click "open console", its located at the top to the right beside your empire name and rank. In the console go to "attack" and u will find it there.

How do I attack other empires?
You can either go to Find Empire(on the Menu) if you know the empires name or scroll the Empire Ranks and click someone's profile. You need to make sure your net worth is close to theirs otherwise you cannot attack. you can attack or be attacked by empires that are half of your worth or double your worth. (For example if you are 500,000 in total worth you can attack and be attacked by people that 250,000 up to 1,000,000.) In their profile you should see the attack button or the out of range area(meaning your not in their total worth area). If it doesn't have either of these options that means you are not in the same area (Arabia, Black Forest, Highlands, or Mediterranean). In order to attack them you must be in the same area. you can move to their area by clicking on the area they are in and it will take you to the travel page. Or you can click the Travel link on the Menu.

Who am i allowed to attack?
If the target is up to double your worth, then empires below that total you can attack. If you divide your worth by 2, then empires above that worth you can attack. Above double or half your worth will be "out of range".

Attacks
Damage can be done in 3 different ways when attacking the enemy, below is a description of what kind of damage and what to send into battle to do that kind of damage.

Attacking War Units
Attack the enemy's war units by sending in 1 of each unit except for your strongest war unit. This is what we call the "1/1/1 method" here at RoC. When you click on the empire's name and you see the attack button, after clicking the attacking button an attack screen will come up. It will have the list of what war units you have and how many. In the boxes you will want to put 1 in all of them except the one you will put all of your strongest war units in. Keep in mind that your strongest war unit will depend upon the civilization you are. The strongest war unit is different for each civilization. After you have filled in the boxes you should click the attack button again at the bottom of the screen that will set the attack button in place. The next screen you will see will tell you how much damage you did and what kinds of war units you killed off, and if you destroyed any buildings. It will also tell you how much damage that the other empire did to you. Now while you are new, we will give you time to get used to the attack. But you should never keep attacking an empire if you are not doing some major damage. You should be able to start doing damage after your first hit, which we call the "buffer" hit.

Destroying buildings
Siege weapons are what you use to destroy an empires buldings. These units will be different according to what your civilization is. You will need to look at what we call the "villager and building ratio." What that means really is that the enemy shuld have fewer buildings than they have villagers. If this is the case it could mean they will leak(happiness below 90%) faster and with less hits so you avoid maxing them. When you are ready to siege and you repeat the same method as mentioned above in the Attacking War Units. Only difference is when you are sieging you will send in your most powerful siege weapon. Once again the most powerful siege weapon will depend upon what civilization you are.

Converting Villagers
Converting villagers is a good way to get some extra villagers. You will have to be in the castle age before you can convert villagers. Converting requires monks, and faith and the Target's villager happiness has to be under 90%. You should use the 1/1/1 method and as always send in your strongest war unit. You can only convert villagers if you win the battle. So if you are attacking an empire with war units you must have more war units and do considerable more damage to win the battle and convert villagers.

Dont Give UP!!!!!
New Empires don't give up!! We will be happy to answer your questions and find an empire who has been here awhile who can teach you how to play so that you will have fun here playing this game. You can contact an admin through the support link on the top of every page and we will be happy to help you.
